While you’re busy planning for your wedding it can be easy to overlook your own needs and wellbeing. However, your wedding is one of the most important days in your life, so you should look and feel your best. Along with your typical wedding planning tasks, it’s essential to take time to put towards self-care. Here are just a few ways that you can work towards looking and feeling your best for your wedding day.
Get more sleep
We all know that it’s suggested to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night, but how often are you really doing so? If you’ve noticed that your energy and mood have been low recently, consider how much you’ve been sleeping. If you find you’re not getting enough sleep, set goals each night and stick to them. If you’ve been sleeping too much, (yes, this is possible!) perhaps you should adjust your sleeping hours and/or make sure you’re moving around more during the day.
Drink enough water
Not drinking a good amount of water is something that so many of us struggle with. Having enough water in your system provides your body with so many wonderful benefits, so work towards drinking the suggested amount of water each day. If finding the motivation to drink enough is something you have trouble with, try using an app that tracks it for you or adding fresh fruit to the water pitcher to change up the taste!
Take mental breaks
Mental health is a huge aspect of your wellbeing that shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s recommended that short, frequent breaks can help to improve mindfulness and productivity during a work day, so why can’t the same be true for wedding planning? There are plenty of things you can do to work on your mental wellness; from taking walks to reading more often. If you think you need something more structured, maybe seeing a therapist once a week would be beneficial. It’s all about finding the method that works best for you. Wedding stress is real, and it can be overwhelming, so it’s especially important to let your mind relax and wind down each day.
Enhance your image
While planning the biggest day of your life, chances are you’ll be taking extra steps to look and feel your absolute best. Why not add a couple extra steps into your daily routine prior to your wedding to help you enhance your appearance that much more? If you’re concerned about your weight, try starting each day by going for a quick run, or simply take the stairs into work instead of the elevator. If you’re feeling insecure about your hairline, consider using some products to prevent hair loss so you can be looking great for the big day. Just adding a few additional steps into your daily routine can make a huge difference.
Find your confidence
This is your day – so you should be feeling your best! If self-esteem is something you’ve struggled with previously, the period before your wedding is the perfect time to work on building your confidence. Learn to love the qualities that you previously may have been self-conscious of. Set personal goals and work hard to make them happen. Steps such as these will help you build up your confidence and feel great about yourself. On your special day, your increased self-esteem will allow you to enjoy it that much more.
