NB2010: All Natural, All the Way? My Regimen

With all of the research I’m doing on natural hair, I notice that a lot of women prefer natural products. However, I’m not sure that this is the route for me. I LOVE my Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat. It makes my natural and relaxed hair soft, moisturized and smooth. No frizz! Why should I switch? If my hair needs change, then I’ll think about it, but why fix something that’s not broken? There are plenty of women of other races who have “natural” (meaning not colored or treated in some way) and they use regular product. I see no reason to change. At this point, I don’t think natural hair has to mean natural products, too. Besides that, they are expensive (especially with me working part time and having this shopping addiction)!

Moving on, I have decided to never use shampoos with sulfates in them, so I’m okay sticking with the Wen shampoo. It’s working well for me. I purchased Burt’s Bee’s shampoo to try as well. I’ll report back on that after this weekend. I also want to try Redken Smooth Down Detangling Cream soon. I’ve heard good things about it. If I find it in the stores, I’ll report on that after the weekend as well.

Last, I’ve decided on a regimen that I think will work well for me. I’ll be washing and deep conditioning on Saturdays, and conditioner washing and doing braid-outs on Wednesdays…I forgot to mention that I did my first braid-out last night! I LOVE this style and so does hubby and the coworkers. I received lots of compliments today. Here are the pictures:
