Q: What was your inspiration for this look? How did you collaborate with the designer to create the look?
“The Sophie Théallet collection this season is inspired by folklore, so we wanted to take that sweet feeling and rough it up with some texture and tousled volume. This look captures the idea of a country girl who becomes a princess—quickly pulling her messy hair up into a beautiful and romantic style.” —Antoinette Beenders for Aveda
Q: How could a woman achieve this look on her own?
“This is a sexy look, especially for evening. Prep hair with Aveda Volumizing Tonic™ and tease the crown with Aveda Pure Abundance™ Hair Potion. Pull hair back into a half-up ponytail and twist it to the left, securing with pins before pulling it into an elastic. Create another ponytail with the remaining hair directly below it. Combine the two ponytails by pinning them together behind the left ear. Sprinkle Aveda Pure Abundance™ Hair Potion through the length of the ponytail and set the look with Aveda Control Force™ Hair Spray.” —Antoinette Beenders for Aveda
Q: What is the inspiration for your collection? What is the look you are capturing?
“This season’s collection is inspired by folklore and old children’s stories that little girls all around the world grow up with. I wanted to bring these lost memories back to women, and remind them of the magic they felt when falling in love with their first princess dress.”
Q: You have made a real effort to “green” your show this season. How do you feel about this accomplishment?
“Since the beginning of our brand, we have always tried to be as green as possible. We produce our garments locally in New York City, and always make sure to recycle our fabric and prints. We are proud to be partnering with a wonderful brand like Aveda for their environmentally-minded philosophy and products.” —Sophie Théallet
