CoverStory: "Bottle It Up"

The one most precious gift god has granted women since the birth of time is the gift of song. We all have it locked deep down in our souls, engraved somewhere in the genetic code that creates our ovaries. Some of us are just better at expressing it than others.
Although each voice is unique, some of more appeasing to the ears than others. These voices get offers of insurmountable fame, larger than one can possibly imagine. The temptation of such a dream to so deep that everyone and their mother thinks this sleepy mirage is solely for them. I think not.

Cover songs are hard to sing because you have to:
listen closely.
Be realistic.
Sing every note, key and run as closely as possible to the original.

Very ladies are capable of such. So, with that said, I want to feature a new song that is clearly difficult to emulate and the cover artist who got it most accurate.

Sara Barreilles is probably one of the hardest artists to copy because her voice is so simple and soft. We've been taught in recent years from artists such as Beyoncé and Maiah that being as loud as humanly possible is attractive and appealing. Nope, Not really.
Back in the day, the softer the voice, the more pure the tone. Voices that were almost infantile and sweet had much charecter because they couldn't possibly corrupt the meaning behind the lyrics.
It was basic, accoustic and real. Kind of like "folk." Yes, that it what we will call this genre: Folk Music.
Sara Barreilles hit the charts with a folk smash named, "Love Song," a brilliantly written track about the complexities of expressing love and passion. People loved it.
Now her latest release has fans dum-diddlying their toes and opening their voicebox with the intentions of blowing us all out of the water. But, just about everyone fell short of the mark.
Except one girl: Meet SophieAnais. She sung this so clean that its almost remarkable. No extra runs. No special distinctions, Just right.
I understood every lyric. There was so mumbling or fumbling of the words. Just... a beautiful song about doing it for love. The joy of love.
